Having been a back suffer for many years I was fortunate enough to be introduced to Mr. Tom Harper at the Acclaim Pain Relief Clinic in Exhall, Coventry.

It is situated in The Hub Business Centre, 54 Bayton Road, Exhall, on the Industrial Estate and is only a stone throwaway from Junction 3 of the M6 motorway making it very easy to find.

On arrival at the Hub Business Centre there is ample free parking both in front and at the rear of the building. Once inside I was greeted by a friendly receptionist who asked me to sign in and guided me to the waiting room where there is a seating area and a drinks machine. She also pointed out the toilets to me should I ever need them.

After a short wait (as I was early) and a cup of coffee later, Mr. Tom Harper came to the waiting area, introduced himself and took me up stairs to his therapy room.

He spent time in learning my history of back trouble and carried out a full examination of my back before diagnosing that I was suffering from a trapped nerve. He went on to show me what was happening with my back using a model of a spine.

He would answer any questions I had with passion and would explain what he was going to do at every stage before carrying out the treatment.

The treatment I received was different from that of other Osteopaths I had used before. Apart from the normal manipulation he spent time stretching muscles more commonly associated with Physiotherapists. Also I was given some kind of electric therapy where pads were placed on my back which was fed by a small electric current. It was quite similar to a Tens Machine but it gave a relaxing massage.

The overall treatment has been very effective and I would recommend anybody with back problems or sports injuries and the like to visit Tom at the Acclaim Pain Relief Clinic. I was also very impressed by the small number of treatments required to get me back to health.

Workplace Treatments

There are three ways I can help you and your staff at work:
  1. 15 minute neck and shoulder massage
  2. 30 minute treatment - any painful muscle/joint problem
  3. Ergonomic assessment of individual working conditions

1) 15 minute neck and shoulder massage

For tired and stressed-out managers and employees who just need a little stress relief. A fifteen minute neck and shoulder massage may be just the thing to ease up those stiff muscles and relieve tension headaches and migraines. This will lead to happier and much more productive employees who are able to give 100% time and 100% effort and concentration on their jobs and not their aches and pains.

Neck & Shoulder Massage Fees
One fifteen minute neck and shoulder massage £10
Mimimum of 6 treatments or one and a half hours £60

2) Half hour treatment - any painful muscle/joint problem

If you have staff or a workforce that need regular treatment to enable them to perform maximally with fewest days off due to injury, back problems or other aches and pains, then I offer a service where I can visit your office or your place of work. Allowing a half-hour treatment for each person, this will allow me to treat up to eight (8) staff in a morning or afternoon, or sixteen (16) members of staff in one day depending upon your requirements.

All I require for this is:

  • A private, quiet room to set up treatment facilities, approximately 12 foot by 9 foot if possible.

  • A method to contact participating staff/workers, i.e. an internal phone or connection to your switchboard.

I shall supply all the treatment equipment and consumables (Including the treatment couch and electrotherapy equipment) and I shall be responsible for setting up the treatment room.

The benefits to you are:

  • Staff are treated on-site and only require half-an-hour away from their work to be treated

  • Staff can choose times to suit their workload

  • Reduced staff stress levels

  • Early diagnosis of problems and therefore...

  • Less "lost workdays" through staff stress and injury

  • Increased staff productivity

Treatments available:

  • Back pain, neck pain, any joint or muscular pain

  • Work related injuries

  • Sports injuries

  • Stress related fatigue

  • Headache & migraine treatment

Fees:

The usual cost per treatment is £35. Pre-paying for a group of treatments reduces the cost per treatment considerably:

Treatment Fees
Treatment Time Booked Total cost Cost per treatment
Private osteopathy (one treatment) £35 £35
One half day (eight treatments) £232 £29
One full day (sixteen treatments) £416 £26

If using pre-pay for booking a greater number of treatments (over a longer time period) then I can offer bigger discounts per treatment.

Please phone 077 1024 4390 to ask about this service and discuss it with me if you have any different requirements.

3) Ergonomic assessment of employee working conditions

I will assess your or your employees work-stations or work areas (office or shop-floor) for any of the common ergonomic problems which lead to many of today's common repetitive strain and muscle and joint problems. Employees who work at desks with computer screens at the wrong height, incorrect style keyboards, chairs that are either too big or too small, or chairs with too little or too much back support, these are just a few of the situations that over time can lead to neck, back and other repetitive strain problems that loose businesses 100's of work hours per year.

Assessment Fees
One employee ergonomic assessment £10
Minimum of 6 assessments £60

In January of 2007 I injured my lower back and got a pinched nerve. After months of being prescribed different pain killers and only being able to stand for short periods of time, I heard about Mr Thomas Harper at Acclaim Pain Relief. Then after three weeks of visiting the practice, I had no problem with my lower back. The pinched nerve in my lower back is now gone. If I could summarize my experience with Tom, I would say that he gave me back my life, and my peace of mind. How much is that worth!
